节目开头、节目中间和节目结束用语
（1）节目开头用语
在一个节目开头，播音员都要对本次节目的内容作简要介绍或对将要播出的有关节目进行预告。请看下面Standard English节目的两个例子：
Hi, and once again a good morning to you. I‘m Phil Owen. Nice to have you with us this morning. Let‘s take a look ahead in this hour. In just a moment, Paul Franchat reviews the major agricultural developments of the week. And we hope to have Barry Wood check in with us. He‘s in Tokyo, Japan, oh I don‘t know whether you call it a fact-finding mission. That‘s probably pretty close. He‘s trying to learn about Japanese industry and economics. He‘ll be checking in with pressroom a bit later. Larry Martin joins us from the U. S.
Department of Agriculture. He‘s the International Information Officer there. He‘ll be answering a listener‘s question on the general subject of agriculture, in specific, the feeding of cattle. You‘ll have sports with Larry James, and a Book Review. But right now, it‘s time for this Saturday Morning‘s Agricultural Round-up.
例子中的take a look ahead in this hour意思是"预告这一小时的节目……"；in just a moment意思是"马上"，这里可译作"首先"；And we hope to have Barry Wood check in with us.可译作："然后我们希望巴里·伍德能和我们见面。"right now意思是"现在……"。

例中come to your way的意思是"接下去您将听到……节目"；It‘s hosted by……可译为"本节目由某某主持"，另外host，hostess分别为"男主持人"和"女主持人"；tonight right here on VOA可译为"今晚VOA电台将在您收听的这一频率播出……"
（2）节目中间用语
最典型的节目中间用语是Standard English新闻和一些专题节目中的“You’re listening to the Voice of America.”（您现在收听的是VOA电台的广播。）等，用来提醒中途打开收音机的听众。
（3）节目结束用语
节目的结束用语通常包括以下几项内容。宣布当次节目结束，报告主持人姓名，邀请听众在下一次的这个时间继续收听这一节目，向听众话别或表示良好的祝愿等。例如：
You have been listening to Magazine Show from the Voice of America. Thank you for listening.句中用了现在完成进行时，意思是“您刚才收听的是”。

这两段结束语中的That’s our program for today. Our program is over this evening.可译为：“我们今天晚上的节目结束了。”is up next的意思是“下面就是……”或“您马上听到……”speaking for可译为“代表……说话”；day ahead指“新的一天”即“明天”。
节目预报用语 节目预报用语大都对所预报的节目的名称、主要内容进行介绍，另外就是告诉听众收听的时间，请看下面的例子：
Stay tuned now for the daily Special English Science Report following the program This Is America, which reports on life in the United States. Our program reports on the growing number of Americans who live alone. Tomorrow at this time you can hear the Special English program Science in the News. Our program tomorrow includes reports on a disorder called sleep apnea and an experimental vaccine to protect against the disease chicken pox. You can hear the program Science in the News tomorrow at this time on the Voice of America.
这段节目预报中的Stay tuned now for the daily Special English Science Report following the program This Is America，可译为“现在您将听到每天的‘特别英语科学报道’节目，接下来您将听到‘今日美国’”。从收听实践来看，VOA的节目预报有以下两个特点：一是早上一般都预报当晚和明天这一时间的节目；而晚上则只对明天晚上这一时间的节目进行预报。二是VOA电台的节目预报方式与我国的广播电台，如中央人民广播电台的方式不一样，我国的电台大都在每次播音的开始进行节目集中预报，但VOA的每次播音开始都是报告国际新闻，把节目预报放在节目与节目之间的空余时间播出，这样见缝插针可以节约时间，但比较零散。
节目时间变动通知 VOA电台常常根据各种需要对其节目的播出时间、节目的长短或内容作一些改进和调整，以收到良好的宣传效果。遇到这种重要的变动情况，VOA都要专门进行通知，一般是提前一个月广播，直到实行新的时间表为止。请看下面的三个例子：
The VOA is changing its program schedule. Beginning Sunday evening October 31, Special English programs will be broadcast at new times. Listeners in East Asia can hear this program one half hour later at 2230 GMT. Special English programs also will be broadcast to East Asia at 0030 and 1230 GMT. Listeners in African can hear Special English at 1730 GMT. The new times for Special English begin Sunday evening October 31 on the Voice of America.
Beginning Sunday October 26, this Voice of America‘s Special English program will be broadcast each day at a new time one hour later than now at 1330 Greenwich Mean time. You will be able to hear the latest world news in Special English followed by Special English Feature Programs every night at this new time one hour later than now at 1330 GMT beginning Sunday October 26.
This evening time for Special English news is changing, starting this Sunday. The Special English news. That‘s starting Sunday October 26 each evening on VOA.
