Chinanews, Beijing, August 23 – More than 4 million criminal cases are reported in China every year, many of them being transprovincial or even transnational cases.
“Quite a lot of criminals in China work in a highly organized way, as many of them have different places for plotting and committing the crimes and for hiding. Beside, I dare say that a large number of them are very experienced in dealing with our inspections,” said Meng Hongwei, Vice Minister of Public Security.
Besides, cyber crimes like credit card crimes have become very common today, which means that the police will have to equip themselves with advanced knowledge and devices to crack such crimes.
“Some of the items in ‘The Criminal Procedure Law’ also need to be updated, for they are not adaptable to the changed conditions,” said Meng.
